New Guidelines for KISD Grab and Go Meal Service

Dear Katy ISD Parents/Guardians, Staff and Community Members,

Katy ISD partners with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) to provide free and reduced cost meal services such as the ‘Grab and Go’ meals program for Katy children. A recent change in TDA policy is now requiring parents picking up meals without a child present to present documentation for each child.

Beginning March 31, 2020, the Nutrition and Food Services staff at all Katy ISD Grab and Go curbside locations will implement the below changes:

If child(ren) are present — no additional documentation is needed.

If child(ren) are not present — Parent/Guardian must provide one of the following items for all children 18 and under:

  • Official letter/email/electronic school application
  • Student Report Card
  • Student ID card
  • Attendance Records with student’s names
  • Birth certificate

For more information about Katy ISD’s ‘Grab and Go Meal program’, such as times and locations, visit the Katy ISD Health Update Web Page.  Should you have any questions, please contact (281) 396-2151.

Thank you for patience during this time,

Katy ISD
